The app can start a stamp five different ways.
The current site mostly explains tiers. The actual app revolves around entry methods: manual claims, boarding passes, geotagged photos, passport ink scans, and passport chip import.

Manual claim with GPS or the country list
Claim the place you just landed in from current location or pick it manually from the full list.
BP
Boarding pass barcode scan
Reads paper or digital boarding passes and can verify origin or destination with GPS.
PIC
Snapshot from photo metadata
Turns a geotagged travel photo into a Snapshot stamp when the coordinates resolve cleanly.
OCR
Passport ink scanner
Scans real passport ink and awards Rare or Legendary depending on GPS confirmation.
NFC
Passport chip import
Uses MRZ + NFC to prefill name, nationality, and portrait during onboarding or profile edits.

Do I need an account to use core features?
Core passport tracking is local-first and does not require account creation.
Can I import data from a passport or boarding pass?
Yes. The app already includes boarding-pass import flows and passport MRZ plus NFC import for profile setup and richer verification.
Can I share or compare my progress with someone else?
Yes. The profile includes share cards for story and feed formats, and Nearby Compare lets two nearby users compare collections side by side.
Why multiple stamp tiers?
Not every travel memory has the same proof value. Tiering lets the archive reflect the difference between a quick claim, a scanned route, a geotagged photo, and a passport stamp.
